Edaphon is a farm and homestead focused on cultivating life: soil life, animal life, plant life, fungal life, and human life. With patience and creativity we can learn from and enhance natural systems to create diversity and abundance.
Garwood Orchards
LaPorte, Indiana
The Garwood family has been farming the same land for over 180 years. For 6 generations, they’ve maintained a focus on farming, family, and community.
When it comes to what Garwood Orchards grows or buys, quality is number one! As a large wholesale grower they care about what they grow and for who, from how and what we plant, harvest, and sell to customers.
Grounded Earth Farm
Crown Point, Indiana
Grounded Earth Farm’s first-generation farmers grow organic vegetables, nuts, and fruit. Their mission is to nourish the community with sustainably-grown food, to be a model of farm viability and to improve the health of families and the earth.
Grounded Earth Farm is completely committed to continuous self-education and anti-racism work; to actively building collective power in the food system through partnerships that honor both farm viability and urgent, pressing need for affordable, fresh food.
Janie’s Mill
Ashkum, Illinois
Janie’s Mill is an organic family farm and organic mill committed to supplying you with the most delicious, wholesome, and best-performing flours and grains. In fact, they grow most of their grains on Janie’s Farm, just down the road from Janie’s Mill!
The Wilken Family are 5th-generation farmers using certified organic and regenerative practices on their Illinois farm, where they grow many different crops in a biodiverse rotation. They then transform those crops into dozens of delicious and nutrient-dense products that are good for you, and good for the planet.
Mick Klüg Farm
Saint Joseph, Michigan
Mick Klüg Farm focuses on providing sustainably farmed, hand-harvested, quality fresh fruit and vegetables to local and Chicago-based farmers markets, restaurants, breweries and fresh produce retailers.
They are committed to sustainable agriculture and promoting locally grown produce, and Mick Klüg Farm is MAEAP Environmentally verified for their cropping and farmstead systems.
Perkins Good Earth Farm
DeMotte, Indiana
Perkins Good Earth Farm invests in their soil and post-harvest handling. This means you receive organic, nutritious, safe, super-long-lasting veggies that taste amazing AND make you feel great!
Dan Perkins, the guy who does the growing at Perkins’ Good Earth Farm, is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and has 19+ years of organic growing experience. In short, Dan dreams about soil and veggies and cares deeply about soil health and growing the best veggies possible. Julie facilitates the farm’s CSA community. Before having children, she taught high school English. Now she raises vegetables and four kiddos, cooks recipes new and old with farm-fresh produce, and teaches CSA success skills.
Pioneering Pig Homestead
North Judson, Indiana
Pioneering Pig Homestead is a direct-to-consumer family-ran diverse farm. Their focus is growing pasture-raised, healthy, humanely-treated meat and eggs along with nutrient dense fruits, vegetables, herbs, honey and raw goat milk using sustainable methods. Pioneering Pig Homestead raises Dexter Cattle, Katahdin Sheep, Alpine Goats, Berkshire/Landrace Cross Hogs, Saxony Ducks, and a variety of chickens for meat and eggs. The goal is to return to their roots by growing most of their own food, sharing knowledge and providing local food products to those interested in making healthy choices.
Rainfield Farm
New Carlisle, Indiana
Born in 2012, Rainfield Farm practices small scale farming on thirteen acres of land, one of which is used for growing produce. The fields are strategically placed to minimally impact the natural landscape of pines and rolling hills.
They practice natural growing methods which prevents the use of pesticides and synthetic chemicals. Rainfield Farm relies heavily on composting and soil conditioning through cover crops, green manure and crop rotations.
Sunrise Harvest Blueberries
San Pierre, Indiana
One of life's guarantees is that the sun always rises. Each dawn provides another day. As a producer of food, it is Sunrise Harvest Blueberries’ aim that your produce can taste as fresh as possible just like the freshness of a beautiful sunrise.
